Description: Engineer will assist in modeling all critical aspects related to the power and signal integrity of a non-traditional ASIC and its packaging. This includes, high speed serial interfaces, DDR memory interfaces, and other custom elements through the use of Nobel integration techniques and materials. The selected candidate will be required to work both independently and collaboratively in conjunction with other teams. As such, the ability to be a hand-on person is critical, capable of running tools, from simple HSpice simulations, to SI Wave, to Ansys HFSS, and other tools, while having the willingness and ability to learn new tools such as, for example, Voltus. Similarly, a strong understanding of the underlaying concepts is required to allow for early modeling techniques in the absence of fully developed designs or fully defined parameters.
Requirements: Job Duty 1 - Assisting in the design, development, and SI&PI modeling of an ASIC and its associated components (e.g. laminate). Job Duty 2 - A working knowledge of analyst tools to include: HSpice, SI Wave, Ansys HFSS, IBM’s ALSIM DCIR+EM+TA. Job Duty 3 - Ability to come-up with some of the inputs required to conduct the above analysis, when/if needed, such as static power and dynamic power estimation. Job Duty 4 - Ability to provide, model, and help implement mitigation techniques as needed (e.g. thru logic or the use of other components, filters or capacitors) in order to mitigate transient noise. Job Duty 5 - Interact with customers (when needed) through technical exchange meetings (TEMs), formal reviews at key program milestones, system demonstrations and briefings, while providing written documentation for the work performed.
