Description: The Security Equipment Specialist shall have the Regular Job Duties listed below:  Perform preventative maintenance on the hardware, software and ancillary equipment in all LPR equipped vehicles. This includes but is not limited to: o Conducting visual inspection of cameras, cabling, and equipment to ensure it is safe to operate and will operate as intended. o Conducting software inspections and performing functionality checks to ensure the system performs as intended. o Replacing and repairing system components as needed. o Testing virtual connections and speeds. o Software configuration and administration to server. o Inspecting LPR camera lenses and ensuring they can properly capture license plates.  Liaise with Operations personnel on ensuring that Mobile LPR systems have the greatest amount of uptime. This includes scheduling regular checks as well as immediately responding to issues that need minor or major repairs.  Coordinating with LPR vendor all service, parts replacements, equipment tracking, etc...  Conduct on-the-spot and as needed training for staff in relation to LPRs.  Maintain records of equipment problems and remedial actions taken, includes device tracking, and resolution of all issues.  Develop, and evaluate policies, procedures, and standards conjunction with management.  Regular reporting on system health, wellness, state of repair etc.  Maintenance and Operation of Communication Vehicle including all subsystems: o Satellite and Wireless Uplinks o ESS Systems including: Lenel, Genetec, Pelco, and AIphone.  Supervise and provide technical assistance/expertise to security personnel performing work on the ESS systems.  Perform routine and preventative maintenance activities.  Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve software or other network and system issues.  Develop, document and revise system design procedures and test procedures.
Requirements: 3 Years of related experience. Familiarity with typical law enforcement vehicle systems including modems (Currently Cradlepoint), mobile data terminals (Windows), and mobile communications (Currently Verizon and Private Cloud).
