Description: The technicians will be responsible for all the wiring inside the cabinets and the “on-machine” wiring routed from various devices into the cabinets on the VPs. The electrical technician will need the following skills:*Knows how to read an electrical schematic or wiring diagram *Experience with populating and wiring a control box or control panel. Often referred to “panel build”. *Knows how to strip wires, label wires with wire numbers, dress wires into wire duct on the back panel *Knows how to use a Panduit wire label printer *Comfortable drilling or punching holes in the cabinet for strain reliefs with a step drill or chassis punch, installing strain reliefs *Able to make decisions on where to route wires to avoid chafing and interference with other parts of the machine with minimal supervision *Familiar with “on machine” wiring practices *Comfortable with occasional re-drilling or cleaning out tapped holes in the back panel *Willing to climb under the deck and occasionally work in awkward places to run wires as necessary *Willingness to work with others to resolve minor issues related to component alignment, parts availability, or mechanical issues that impact electrical build *Flexibility to work with documentation that has minor errors or omissions, and to help correct and update this documentation as problems occur *Willing to make suggestions on how to improve manufacturability or maintainability of VP *Works well with mechanical technician *Knows how to snake wires between cabinets If requested, the mechanical technician will be responsible for assisting the electrical technician as needed, and for the mechanical assembly of the VPs. If a mechanical technician is required, then he/she will need the following skills:*Flexibility to work with documentation that has minor errors or omissions, and to help correct and update this documentation as problems occur *Comfortable with small power tools like reciprocating saw, hand drill, etc. *Comfortable drilling and tapping small holes in aluminum at assembly *Willing to climb under the deck and occasionally work in awkward places or poses *Willing to make suggestions on how to improve manufacturability or maintainability of VP *Understands how and when to use, and not to use, Loctite *Knows how to properly tighten, but not overtighten, threaded fasteners *Understands inch and metric threaded fasteners *Works well with electrical technician *Willing to work with machinist in correcting part fit problems and documenting same *Has his/her own tools
