Contract employment is a term used for long term temporary employment. Individuals are hired by the contract firm and “assigned” to the client for the duration of the project(s) or as long as the client may have need for those services. These assignments can range from several weeks to several years depending on the project, client and the individuals capabilities. Contract Assignments are “At Will” employment. This means that you, the client or the contracting firm may end the relationship at any time, with or without notice, for any reason.
The advantages of contract employment are that you have opportunities to work with a wide array of clients and environments without the obligations normally associated with more traditional employment. Client companies generally are looking for a skill to help them through a particular project or initiative. Currently our average contract last just over three years.
Are these part time positions?
Not usually. Almost all of our contract assignments are based on full-time employment. Typically our associates work 35-40 hours or more per week. And as stated above, assignments can range from several months to several years depending on the nature of the projects.
How do I get paid as a Contract Employee?
Typically you are paid hourly. We pay all of our associates weekly based on the hours they work on their assignment. Employees can either receive paper checks sent directly to them or we can arrange for direct deposit of pay into your account.
Do I get any benefits?
There are some benefits available to contract employees. Due to the nature of the positions they are limited. Please see our benefit summary to get a better idea of those available to our staff.
Will these lead to a permanent job?
We really cannot say. Our goal is to provide a qualified person to handle the customer’s immediate requirements. Although they do not start out with any commitment, and individuals should not assume a longer term opportunity when they accept a position, there are occasions where clients do offer our associates an opportunity to join their organization at the end of their assignment.
Contract Employment is not for everyone, however if you are looking for a new opportunity or need to demonstrate your skills or training this might be the path for you! We invite you to submit your resume and/or contact one of our personnel coordinators. They can give you a better idea of what may be available and how the positions we have me offer you the opportunity you have been waiting for…..
