Assistant Environmental Engineer

Description: Description of Work: Office assignments include, but are not limited to, assisting the Construction Manager in daily management of investigation/remediation construction activities, planning and coordinating field activities, design/construction drawing review, data review and analysis, development of task order scope of work (to Design Consultant) and estimates, investigation/remediation report review and payment processing. Field assignments include, but are not limited to, overseeing environmental consultant and contractor's field activities, maintaining records and documentation as required by MTA ? C&D or other mandated procedures. Field duties may require assignments to various shifts and may include weekend work throughout all five boroughs of New York City.
Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (e.g. Civil/Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical) or Environmental Sciences (e.g., Geology). * OSHA 30 * Knowledge of NYSDEC Environmental Remediation Program (6NYCRR Part 375) and Technical Guidance for Site Investigation and Remediation (DER -10). * Knowledge of mechanics of petroleum/hydrocarbon contamination of soil and groundwater well hydraulics and groundwater hydrology and monitoring. * Experience in reviewing design and construction drawings. * Oversight of construction activities for product recovery and groundwater remediation/treatment systems. * Oversight of site investigation and remediation projects. * Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point; * Ability to read/interpret construction drawings, flow diagram and boring logs.
