Description: Assist Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) NSTX-U Recovery Project team with the preparation of detailed work plans and execution of assigned tasks in the field, including technical oversight and resolution of problems arising during task execution. Perform the following in accordance with PPPL and NSTX-U policies, programs and procedures: • Prepare procedures and work plans for completing assigned tasks which may include field inspections and tests, or the fabrication, installation modification for electrical systems and components • Initiate required PPPL site permits and support completion of Job Hazards Analyses • Assist PPPL supervisors and lead technicians in pre-job worker briefings • Provide oversight and technical direction to safely accomplish assigned tasks in accordance with established designs • Initiate and coordinate resolution of technical problems and issues with PPPL design authorities (e.g. Engineering Change Notices) • Inspect installed and tested work against design requirements and advise Cognizant Engineer of its acceptability
Requirements: • BS degree in Electrical Engineering • 15 years + experience in construction, operations or maintenance at commercial nuclear power plants or research laboratories in the Department of Energy complex • 100% onsite work at PPPL • Possible evening shift work. (2:00 pm to 10:30 pm.) • No medical restrictions on performing physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds • No medical restriction working near static magnetic fields • Capable of climbing ladders and working at heights from scaffolding, platforms and powered aerial lifts L.
