Description: : Overnight travel up to 60% (80% including local travel) or as needed to complete responsibilities. Fulfill technical and field start-up responsibilities for all projects assigned by department supervisor. These include but are not limited to: review of system documents and drawings (mechanical, controls and validation), customer assistance, start-up of machine systems, training of machine users, preventive maintenance equipment reviews and controls service, controls troubleshooting service on-site as well as over the phone. 1. Project management tasks including scheduling, budgeting, coordination and communications. Maintain project costs within budgetary limits and reporting status. 2. Be primary interface with customer representatives to resolve issues related to design, installation, schedule, cost and project status. 3. Develop equipment and facility layout concepts with customer project teams including A/E firms. 4. Providing process engineering and equipment layout, integration, and specification services for customer projects. Vendor equipment investigation, selection, price negotiation, coordination, and procurement efforts related to customer projects. 5. Contractor interface including preparation and review of scope documents, job specifications, proficiency evaluation, price negotiations and contract terms and final selection for installation and construction services. 6. Prepare and present project quotations for submittal to customer. 7. Analyze and plan for installation of equipment and related construction activities. 8. Hands-on management of on-site contractors regarding project performance, coordination and schedule concerns. 9. Work with AutoCAD drawings during customer presentations and planning sessions. 10. Examines and inspects work progress, equipment and construction sites to verify safety and ensure that the specifications are met. 11. Provide oversight and project management of CAD designers, project engineers, and consultants on a project basis. 12. Provide departmental leadership in the Manager's absence. Glatt. Integrated Process Solutions. 13. Conduct technical review of standard design specifications and details. Participate in monthly project reviews for technical and design concerns. 14. Maintaining proficiency consistent with improving job performance and upgrading technical expertise by reviewing literature, attending seminars, and interfacing with other organizations. 15. Developing and encouraging good interpersonal working relationships on a company wide basis. 16. Keeping departmental management informed on a routine basis of all developments and problems as they occur. 17. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: BS Engineering, NJ Licensed PE preferred. Five plus years' experience in engineering layout and installation of capital equipment in GMP processing suites in the pharmaceutical, food or related processing industries.
