Description: Under managerial direction, the selected candidate(s) will provide field support with an emphasis on work performed by a third-party contractor during construction and design, including the following:a. Ensure work complies with contract documentsb. Complete all required paperwork for contractc. Provide support during the inspection and quality control/quality assurance furnishing an installing of all material and equipment during close-out.d. Assist in the inspection of communications construction projects; monitoring and coordinating several types of project activities, working independently under general supervision.e. Provide project management support service during construction and design.f. Work with Resident Engineer in meeting the project goals and provide support to the PMC/CCM, attending project coordination meetings with stakeholders preparing meeting minutes and following up on action items.g. Monitor safety ensuring all personnel, including client personnel, Contractor and Subcontractors, comply with safety requirements of the contract.h. Prepare regularity and in a timely manner Daily Reports, Quality and Safety Check Lists and Reports, Field Condition Survey Reports, Field Sketches, scopes of work for change orders, estimates, additional work order packages and any other report as required by the Construction Manager/Resident Engineer.i. Prepare, submit and coordinate necessary requests for services, such as Flagging, Access & Protection, etc.j. Supervise employees and manage project budget, schedules and construction activities.
Requirements: A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, architectural technology, landscape architecture, Transportation, business administration, or public administration Three years' full time satisfactory experience performing project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating or expediting on engineering projects, or supervising a construction project with a value of $1 million or more. Candidate must have at least one year of supervisory capacity or have served for at least one year as a project manager for a large and/or complex construction project. OSHA-10 Certification and 8-hour Lead Awareness Course must be completed prior to starting the position. -Bachelor of Engineering Degree preferred.-Ability to read and interpret Contract drawings & specifications.-Knowledge of applicable codes and standards preferred.-Demonstrated project management experience.-Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Word, Access and Excel. CADD experience is desirable but not required-The ability to communicate effectively with excellent written and verbal skills.-Organize project information, prepare reports and presentations and interact/communicate with contractors and other departments.-Knowledge and/or experience with capital construction procedures and field operations.-Knowledge and/or experience with construction scheduling and estimating.-In depth knowledge and/or experience with mass-transit facilities preferable.-The ability to coordinate with a multitude of users such as operations and engineering personnel.
