Description: L.J. Gonzer Associates is looking for individuals to join our pool of qualified candidate for potential assignment as a Database Administrator.Tasks will include:*Installing, upgrading, and patching Oracle Database software in an Oracle Exadata and IBM AIX environment with RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Enterprise Manager, and GoldenGate. *Creating Oracle databases. *Developing and testing a backup and recovery strategy, backing up Oracle databases regularly, and recovering them in case of failures. *Configuring the network environment to enable clients to connect to databases. *Starting up and shutting down the database. *Managing storage for the database. *Managing users and security. *Monitoring performance and availability of Oracle database environment. *Starting and stopping Oracle databases as necessary. *Creating and maintaining documentation related to all tasks and providing mentoring/knowledge transfer to other staff as necessary.
Requirements:
- 7 years of experience troubleshooting Oracle 10g or higher database performance and other related issues; specifically by working with other teams to identify if the issue is at the storage, network, database, or application tier.
- 7 years experience working with developers to suggest modifications which could improve the performance of their SQL (e.g., avoiding cartesian products, suggesting indexes, etc.).
- 7 years of experience using RMAN for backup and recovery of Oracle 10g or higher databases. Experience must include using RMAN for recovery.
- 7 years of experience upgrading and patching Oracle 10g or higher Database software in a Unix-like environment (e.g. AIX, Linux, Exadata etc). Experience must include both upgrading and patching an entire RAC cluster with DataGuard. 7.5 10.
- 7 years of experience installing Oracle 10g or higher Database software in a Unix-like environment (e.g. AIX, Linux, Exadata etc). Experience must include installing and configuring an entire RAC cluster with DataGuard.
- 4 years of experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13 or higher.
- 4 years of experience working with GoldenGate in an Oracle database environment.
- 3 years of experience with Oracle 10g or higher with an application tier which uses IBM Cúram architecture (direct experience with Cúram itself not necessary).
- Oracle 10g or higher Certified Professional (OCP) certification.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
