Description: L.J. Gonzer Associates is looking for individuals to join our pool of qualified candidates for potential assignment as an Environmental Engineer. *Performs Project Monitoring on asbestos abatement, lead disturbance, and silica generating projects to ensure that all work is performed in accordance with applicable Federal and State regulations/procedures *Oversees lead and asbestos abatement contractors and air monitoring to ensure work is performed properly *May also include oversite of contractors performing operations that may generate airborne silica *Prepares asbestos abatement and lead placard documents and maintain record *The candidate may be directed to perform asbestos surveys
Requirements: *Bachelor's Degree in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, business administration or public administration *NYSDOL Asbestos Supervisor License *OSHA 30 (Construction) Certification *Preferred full-time experience in professional safety or environmental work specifically in Asbestos abatement, survey, design, project monitoring, familiar with SSPC C3/C5 guidelines for surface preparation *Knowledge of pertinent Federal and State regulations governing the identification and removal of Asbestos containing materials and disturbance of lead *Familiarity with airborne silica generating operations *Familiar with OSHA/PESH regulations *Must be able to read drawings *Good Computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel L.
